Multimedia Production Spaces
Lightboard
Located at 1100 West Market, the lightboard studio contains a 5’x3.5′ lightboard, a 4k video camera, and audio recording equipment. The lightboard is a transparent whiteboard made of glass with internal lighting to make writing glow. A lightboard allows a presenter to write and draw while maintaining eye contact to deliver their message in a natural and engaging way. Video is filmed through the glass and mirrored so the orientation appears correct to the viewer.
Minimal editing can be performed on videos recorded in the studio. Raw or edited videos will be delivered to clients via the cloud.
Multimedia Studio
The multimedia studio is a 1,500 square foot sound dampened media production space that features a 20’x20′ green screen sweep, LED grid lighting, and photo backdrops. The space is intended for the production of instructional materials for use in face-to-face and online classes. Use of the space requires collaborating with the ITS: LT media team on the production of media assets for instruction.
Due to the sensitive nature of the studio and its contents, unsupervised use of the space is prohibited. For more information please review the Oakland Studio Policy.

ITS Multimedia: AI Transparency & Authenticity Statement
The ITS Multimedia Team is committed to producing authentic, human-centered storytelling for our university. To ensure the highest levels of institutional trust and accuracy, we adhere to the following production standards:
- Human Governance: All creative content is developed, directed, and approved by University staff. AI-assisted tools may support brainstorming, script-shaping, and production efficiency, but human editorial judgment governs all final work to ensure accuracy, context, and alignment with the University’s mission.
- Primary Cinematography: We prioritize real-world footage captured on our campus and in our community. We do not use generative AI to create synthetic people, events, or campus locations.
- Production & Accessibility: To meet federal accessibility (ADA) standards and production deadlines, we utilize AI-assisted tools for technical tasks such as automated captioning, audio noise reduction, and initial transcription.
- Final Verification: Every project has been reviewed and verified by a human editor for factual accuracy and “Human-First” creative quality.
